April 29/Friction. Klaus. Borrowed Confidence.

I wrote 'Newsletter?' in the Founder's Notebook. Then closed it. If I commit to it in writing I'll have to do it.

Beer with Klaus. Good mood, his default setting. Enjoyable and faintly exhausting in equal measure.

Jana's team is using the folder structure without thinking about it now. Which is the goal — when a system works, nobody notices it. They just find things.

Klaus said I should write about this. Like Thorsten does. I said I didn't have 4,000 subscribers. He said nobody does on day one, and clinked his glass against mine in a way that was irritatingly kind.

On the U-Bahn home I thought about the newsletter. Not Thorsten's. Mine. One that doesn't use the word ecosystem. One that talks about four folders all called Clients Final and the invoice that's been sitting unpaid since March because no one wanted to be the one to ask.

I wrote 'Newsletter?' in the Founder's Notebook. Then closed it. If I commit to it in writing I'll have to do it, and I'm not ready to be that person yet.

But I left the question mark. That feels like enough for today.

The notebook

The thing I wrote in my notebook with a question mark is I haven't answered it yet.

"Klaus suggested I start a newsletter. Thorsten has 4,500 subscribers. I have 203. Help me close the gap."
