She presented her findings without drama, which is somehow more difficult than drama. She noted, calmly, that I have spent more on stationery, notebooks, a fountain pen, and what she described as 'miscellaneous branding objects' than I have earned in revenue.

I told her I was scaling the infrastructure. She asked if the infrastructure included a plan for the electricity bill. I said the infrastructure was pre-revenue. She said: 'How pre-revenue?' I said I preferred not to quantify it at this stage.
She closed the folder. She made tea. She brought me a cup. This is how she tells me she still believes in it — not with words, which she conserves, but with tea.
